OVERVIEW

Teaching methodology and materials

Emphasis on oral proficiency through task-oriented activities, group work, discussions, role plays, debates, etc. in order to develop communication strategies in French;

- Business-oriented activities set in realistic contexts;
- Vocabulary building for business communication;

Development of efficient cross-cultural skills, with a focus on negotiation and non-verbal communication;

Use of authentic material (business documents, television and radio broadcasts, videos) and multimedia resources (language laboratory, CD-ROMs, DVDs, etc.);

- CDs are made available for outside of class practice;
- Progress indicators assess participants' communication skills;
- Language certification.

Length of the sessions: 10 weeks.

Meetings: classes meet twice a week. A floating class is offered on Saturday mornings for make-up purposes or additional practice. Each class includes an instructional period (1 hour) and a practice period (from 30 minutes to 1 hour).

Groups: 10 participants.
